By listening to the specific needs of local children, these loving adults are equipped to provide them with individualized care, a chance to succeed, and hope for a better future.
In the desert country of Jordan is the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. Jordan is bordered by Israel, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia; the Red Sea borders the southernmost part of the country. Many historical archeological sites are found in this dry and arid country. Due to the climate, only a small percent of the land is used for agriculture and farming, and most of the population is employed in the service industry. Water is very scarce and affects all facets of life. Most Jordanians are Muslim, but there is a small percentage of the population that is Christian. Family ties are important and great effort is spent protecting ancestral traditions and culture. Jordan has become home to many refugees from Palestine and Iraq.
